BIO
Shawn Adams is an architect, writer, lecturer and content creator who brings architecture, design and culture to wider audiences through editorial writing and social media. He works with brands, cultural institutions and public bodies to produce engaging short-form videos, interviews, architectural reviews and walkthroughs of buildings. Combining professional insight with an accessible, distinctive style, he explains complex ideas and connects design to the social and cultural issues that shape everyday life.

His writing spans commissioned features, essays, interviews, profiles and copywriting. He has written over 100 published stories for publications including the Financial Times, Wallpaper*, Hypebeast, FRAME, VICE and The World of Interiors. Across his writing and digital content, he champions underrepresented voices and explores the social, political and cultural dimensions of design.

Shawn is a co-founder of POoR Collective, winner of the London Design Festival’s Emerging Design Medal in 2023. He is also currently the Outreach Lead at housing specialist company HTA Design. 

Shawn has also taught at Central Saint Martins, UAL, and the Architectural Association, and sits on the Advisory Board of Open City’s Accelerate Programme and is a RIBAJ Rising Star.
