SHAWN ADAMS is an Architect, Writer, and Lecturer who currently teaches at Central St Martins, UAL and the Architectural Association. Shawn also works as the Outreach Lead at Housing Specialist company HTA Design LLP and is the co-founder of the socially-minded design practice POoR Collective. In 2023, POoR won London Design Festival’s Emerging Design Medal.

Shawn has written for the Financial Times, VICE, Wallpaper*, FRAME, The World of Interiors, The Architects' Journal, RIBAJ, ICON, OnOffice, Mix Interiors, and Disegno. Shawn writes about global architecture and design and aims to platform the voices of those living across the Caribbean, Asia, and Africa.

Shawn currently sits on the Advisory Board of Open City’s Accelerate Programme is a Trustee of The Museum of Architecture and is a RIBAJ Rising Star. He has expertise in architecture, community engagement, and delivering social value. He has worked with H&M, IKEA, The Office Group, The Royal College of Art and the South London Gallery.

He also has extensive experience working with young people having delivered workshops at numerous primary and secondary schools.
